Aldi's £3.50 burgers rivalling the McDonald's McSpicy

Aldi has unveiled a new addition to its burger range, designed to compete with one of McDonald's most popular items. The budget supermarket has launched a spicy chicken fillet burger that customers can make at home as an alternative to the fast-food chain's McSpicy, but for a fraction of the cost.

Available from today (May 13), Aldi's Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Fillet Burger is the perfect 'fake-away' treat for those looking to satisfy their spicy cravings. Retailing at just £3.29 for a pack of four, the Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Fillet Burgers are made from 100 percent pure juicy chicken breast, covered in a fiery coating and a crispy breadcrumb.

Customers can pair the burgers with Aldi's Village Bakery Sliced Seeded Burger Bun (£1.09 for a six-pack) and Nature's Pick Iceberg Lettuce (79p) to create four delicious chicken burgers for just £1.19 each. This makes it 79 percent cheaper than a single McSpicy from McDonalds, which costs £5.59 per burger.

Also joining the range are Aldi's Takeaway Chicken Tenders (£3.49), available in two flavours. The Pakora Chicken Tenders consist of succulent strips of chicken breast in a crispy pakora style batter, served with a sweet curry dip.

Meanwhile, the Hoisin Chicken Tenders are encased in a crispy batter, coated with a Hoisin glaze and topped with spring onions. These will be hitting the shelves from June, reports Wales Online.

Following the success of Aldi's Gastro Buttermilk Chicken Thigh Burgers (£2.69, 330g) and Gastro Sesame Chicken Tenders (£3.49), the supermarket has added new items to its popular Rooster's range. These products are currently available for purchase in stores.

From Monday, May 13, Aldi's Rooster's Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Fillet Burger will be available in stores across the country and online via Click and Collect.
