Just months after being at the centre of controversy around social media activity in relation to Erik ten Hag, Alejandro Garnacho appears to be supporting his manager.

In April the teenager liked two tweets questioning the choice of Ten Hag to replace Garnacho at half-time in the 2-2 to Bournemouth. He has now acted similarly, though this time in support of his boss.

Following United's decision to stand behind Ten Hag at the conclusion of their end-of-season review, Garnacho has liked a tweet from online presenter Beth Tucker (@bethTmufc). "MY MANAGER !" the post reads alongside an image of Ten Hag with the FA Cup. "Can’t explain how happy I am. Thank you INEOS."

It is not the only pro-Ten Hag tweet that Garnacho has liked either. Before the end of season he liked a video captioned "Our gaffer [red heart emoji]" and also another that included a GIF of Ten Hag hugging him Garnacho.

Under Ten Hag's watch, Garnacho has become one of the best young forwards in the league. He scored seven times and assisted for from 36 matches (30 starts) in the Premier League, and was a regular throughout the season.

Although his debut for the club came at the end of the 2021/22 campaign and before Ten Hag's arrival, it didn't take long before he was a trusted member of the squad. Garnacho started to have more of an influence on the side at the end of his first full season involved in the first team and took that to another level in the past 12 months.

He will now be hoping to repay the manager's faith. It is understood that one of the reasons behind Ineos sticking with Ten Hag is the work he had done with young players such as Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund. The pair are set to have key roles under the Dutchman yet again in 2024/25.
