The brother of Alejandro Garnacho has hit back at claims that the forward could move to the Saudi Pro League this summer - but implied that some of the Argentine's Manchester United team-mates should consider it.

On Thursday night, reports from the Middle East claimed that Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli were eyeing a move for Garnacho, who has established himself as a key component of United's team since making his Premier League debut in April 2022 and scored in last month's FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

He has four years remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford and the Manchester Evening News understands he is one of just four players that are considered not for sale by new shareholders Ineos this summer.

However, if any further assurance was needed about the Argentine's future at Old Trafford then his brother Roberto has provided it in a social media post on X this week. Replying to an aggregator account relaying the news of Al Ahli's interest in Garnacho, Roberto replied: "Tf [the f**k] is this?"

Roberto wasn't finished there, though, as when he was told that Garnacho should "take" the Saudi Pro League's side offer he hit back, writing: "Nah some others should."

The comments from Garnacho's brother come just weeks after former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher called for midfielder Casemiro to quit United and move to either the Saudi Pro League or MLS this summer.

Speaking after United's 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in May, Carragher: "I think Casemiro should know tonight that he should only have another three games left at the top level. The next two league games and the cup final, then he should be thinking, 'I need to go to the MLS or Saudi'.

"This has to stop because we are watching one of the greats of the modern time. I always remember the saying 'leave the football before the football leaves you'. The football has left him. At this top level, he needs to call it a day at this level and move.

"The level of that player, he should not be putting himself through this. He is too good of a player to be putting in a performance like that being laughed at by Crystal Palace. He needs to call it a day."
