Alexander Isak nominated for prestigious Premier League player of the season award

Alexander Isak has been nominated for both the Premier League's Player of the Seaon and Hublot Young Player of the Season award.

The Sweden international has netted 25 times for club and country this season and grabbed 20 Premier League goals in 27 games. The £63million man has been heavily linked with Arsenal but has insisted he is happy to stay on Tyneside.

A United statement read: "Isak has been nominated for the 2023/24 Premier League's Hublot Young Player of the Season award.

"The 24-year-old striker has been in blistering form for the Magpies during the 2023/24 campaign, with the Swedish frontman scoring 20 goals in 27 English top-flight outings and has netted ten times in as many matches since recovering from a groin injury in February.

"Isak, who was nominated for the award last term after an impressive maiden campaign at St. James' Park since joining from Real Sociedad, features on an eight-man shortlist which includes Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo and Destiny Udogie of Tottenham Hotspur."

Haaland won it last season after helping Man City to the Premier League title in his first season since arriving from Dortmund. Fans can vote here for Isak to win the coveted title this time around.

Isak is joined in the Player of the Year shortlist by Haaland, Foden and Palmer, with Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Virgil van Dijk and Oliie Watkins making the final eigh.
