Alison Brie has become beloved for her role as wrestler Ruth Wilder on GLOW, but before wrestling with a neon '80s wardrobe on the Netflix series, she was dealing with the more restrictive '60s costumes of Mad Men.

Alison played the recurring role of Trudy Campbell on the AMC series, but she's now revealed that her time on set got off to a rather embarrassing start due to a "peeing incident" early on.

Speaking on actor Justin Long’s podcast, Life is Short, Alison explained how her Mad Men costume featured a girdle underneath.

She described it as being "like biker shorts" that stretched all the way up to her ribs and noted that they had "a small hole in them" to make going to the bathroom a little easier.

Alison admitted she didn't realise for her first season on the show "that you really weren’t supposed to wear underwear under them because they are underwear", adding that she was trying to be "respectful" to the wardrobe department by wearing her own undergarments underneath.

One day, the actress found herself rushing to set in her costume while really needing to go to the bathroom.

"[I] rushed to the bathroom, tried to pull the hole open, but I didn’t pull my underwear to the side, so I’m peeing and I’m not hearing it hit the bowl and then I just feel warm. I just feel warm," Alison said.

"And it was a full pee, because I thought I was going to pee in the toilet," she continued.

Alison then had to go to set afterwards and did several takes while in her wet underwear. Yikes.

But, fortunately for Alison, Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant was very understanding, telling her "it wouldn’t be the first time" someone had peed in their girdle.

Elsewhere, Alison sadly said she was "pessimistic" about a Glow movie happening after the show was unable to deliver a fourth season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
