Alligator Dragged Off After Nighttime Visit to Florida Home

A Florida resident captured footage of an alligator hanging around her neighborhood at night, as well as its efficient removal by a crew of wranglers the next morning.

Siara Mercedes Grant, who lives in Fort Myers, told Storyful she was warned there was an alligator in the area on April 18.

“I was cooking dinner when my neighbor called me to tell me there was an alligator outside of my house and to warn my husband, who would be coming home soon,” she said. "I opened the door to see where it was, and my husband yelled at me from the driveway, ’Don’t come out!’

“I came out through the garage and it was hiding under my neighbor’s car,” she continued. "Then the alligator went to another door and tried to knock it open.

“Then he started walking back to our house, so we ran inside before he did. Then he stayed outside our door for a while before he kept going on his merry way,” Grant said.

Grant also filmed video of the alligator being wrangled by professional gator removers the following day. Credit: Siara Mercedes Grant via Storyful
