Amanda Holden fans have rallied round the star with messages of support after Andrew Tate attempted to shame her over a bikini photo.

The Britain's Got Talent judge, 52, had posted a holiday snap to Twitter showing her standing under an outdoor shower in a black bikini.

But while many fans had praised how stunning she looked in the photo, one cruel comment came from social media influencer Andrew Tate who is currently under house arrest in Romania on sexual exploitation charges.

Tate is known for his misogynistic online content and has been charged in Romania for rape and human trafficking.

But despite awaiting a court appearance when Holden posted the photo, he found time to comment: "You are a wife and a mother and you're far past a teenager.

"There is no need for this post."

Outraged Holden fans jumped to her defence, including newsreader and Loose Women host Charlene White who tweeted: "Attention-seeking by attempting to troll @AmandaHolden?! Someone ought to take up crochet and stop entering grown-up conversations."

Barrister Dr Charlotte Proudman also added: "Self proclaimed misogynist, Andrew Tate has been charged with rape & under house arrest but that doesn’t stop him taking to Twitter to make sexist jibes about Amanda Holden — whilst age & body shaming her. 'The king of toxic masculinity' strikes again."

There were plenty of other supportive comments for Holden, with many pointing out the hypocrisy of Tate's post.

Others commented on the disturbing remarks by Tate, with one person writing: "Far past a teenager? Only teenagers should post bikini pics? Yikes Tate, yikes."

Another person added: "I was not aware there was an age limit on bikini wearing."

Someone else wrote: "You should stay in your lane Andrew. There is no need for this post."

One person made a jibe about Tate's house arrest, commenting: "I wouldn’t pay any attention to him, he hasn’t been out the house in a while."

Tate and his brother Tristan appeared at the Romanian Court of Appeal in Bucharest today, where they were challenging their house arrests.

The decision was made in July to keep the brothers under house arrest for another 30 days, but the Tates are appealing the ruling and will now wait to hear whether they have been successful or not.
