Potatoes are one of those foods that can easily elevate every meal, especially when you take the time to properly prepare them for that delicious crunchy texture.

But would you dedicate 15 whole hours to potato prep? According to one chef who has appeared on This Morning, you really should - as this technique makes 'perfectly crisp' spuds that foodies have been loving.

Poppy O'Toole, who is known for her potato creations, has shared a 'new and improved' recipe with her four million followers on TikTok that elevates the humble spud to new heights - but it does take some patience.

In her video, she cuts into her potatoes with a satisfying crunch, as she asks: "Can we all just take a moment of silence for this?"

The Mirror reports that she then takes her followers through everything you need to do to achieve this. To start off, she pours beef dripping over her peeled potatoes which have been cut into thin slices.

"Plenty of salt and give it a good mix," she adds, before placing the potato in a lined baking tin. "Next we're going to layer up bit-by-bit those pieces of potato then put it in the oven for three hours," she explains, placing a sheet of baking paper over the food.

After the potatoes have been taken out of the oven, Poppy then places three food tins on top, explaining that it's necessary to weigh it down for 10-12 hours - as this will ensure it stays 'nice and compact'.

Taking it out of the fridge after the time was up, Poppy then sliced up the potato into chip shapes and deep-fried until 'golden and crispy.

Tucking into her concoction, she confirmed the potatoes were 'absolutely delicious'.

Poppy added further info in the comments section: "COOKING/PREP TIMES: 1. Three hours in the oven at 130 degrees Celsius 2. Twelve hours in the fridge to set 3. Deep fry at 190 degrees Celsius."

Amazed by her method, one follower declared: "I suddenly have 15 hours of free time today." Another joked: "I would die for this potato."

A third gushed: "I made these because of your video. And THEY ARE AMAZING! Thank you for being so awesome and inspiring me to cook at home." And a fourth penned: "I made these a few days ago for the first time. People complain about 15 hours. I’d make them if they took 100 hours… so good."
