Update Your Amazon Kindle By Tomorrow To Avoid Losing Online Access

Users of older Kindle e-readers need to update their devices to avoid being locked out, Amazon has warned.

While Amazon has been urging customers to carry out the update for a while, time is almost up.

The critical update needs to be downloaded and installed by 22 March.

The update affects the 2012 Kindle Paperwhite as well as all older models so any devices that are older than four years need to be updated.

If users don’t update their Kindles in time, they’ll be unable to connect to the internet meaning that they won’t be able to sync their e-readers or download any new books.

However, even if users do miss the deadline, they will still be able to update their devices but will have to go through the arduous process of first downloading the software to their computer then transferring it to their Kindle using a USB connection.

Users who carry out the update by tomorrow can simply update over Wi-Fi by going to the Home screen, tapping on Menu and selecting ‘Sync and Check for Items’, which will carry out the update.
