Amazon ‘Prime Day’ Of Bargains Set To Be Bigger Than Black Friday

Amazon ‘Prime Day’ is set to take place on Wednesday 15 July and promises to offer more deals than Black Friday.

Part of the retailer’s 20th birthday celebrations, the ‘global shopping event’ is available exclusively to Amazon Prime members with deals spread across every department of the online store for 24 hours.

‘Black Friday’, the day after Thanksgiving in the US is the biggest shopping day of the year, much like Boxing Day in the UK.

While Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated in the UK, the day of major price reductions and deals has gradually crept across the Atlantic.

Prime users will have access to numerous ‘lightning deals’ on the big day, with new offers starting every 10 minutes

Amazon Prime usually has an annual sign-up fee of £79 for which members get free one-day delivery as well as unlimited access to the Amazon Prime Instant Video streaming service.

The fee for new members is currently reduced to £59, but only until Wednesday 8 July.

Last week, Amazon started offering one-hour deliveries to users in London for a fee of £6.99.
