Amazon selling electric shock bracelet that stops you eating fast food

If you’re struggling to give up greasy fast food, it might be time to get hardcore - with a bracelet which gives you an electric shock every time you reach for a Big Mac.

The shock is pretty mild, obviously - but its creators claim it creates an association which makes it easy to give up habits.

The Pavlok bracelet is on sale on Amazon for £193, and was created by Behavioral Technology in Salt Lake City, Utah.

With a paired app, its makers claim it can be used to cure most bad habits ‘within 3-5 days’, although previous reports have questioned the science behind the device.

Its creators say, 'Pavlok allows you to speak your reptile brain's language by adding an unpleasant element, or a safe and harmless 'zap' of electricity on your wrist.

Users have to self-administer the shocks, as the app can’t (obviously) detect when you’re actually eating a burger.

Creator Maneesh Sethi previously said, ‘A few years ago, I hired a girl to slap me in the face whenever I used Facebook.

‘My productivity increased 4x. So I knew I was on to something.’

The Pavlok is named after Ivan Pavlov, who trained dogs to salivate whenever they heard a bell.
