American Horror Story's bewitching eighth season is almost upon us, but Freak Show actor Finn Wittrock has ruled himself out of any kind of appearance.

The actor has also shown up in the Hotel and Roanoke instalments, and although he received an Emmy nomination for his work on the anthology series, the performer won't be joining Ryan Murphy's eagerly-anticipated Apocalypse.

Speaking to TV Insider, Wittrock confirmed that he won't be involved with the upcoming Coven and Murder House crossover.

"As of this year, no" he explained. "But I'm sure I'll be involved in the Ryan-verse somewhere in the future."

So it's not all bad news, as Wittrock still sees himself as part of the Murphy puzzle, and their working relationship is obviously very strong, given that they most recently collaborated on The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

Elsewhere, fans of AHS will be twirling their hair in excitement as the cast has officially added Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks to the Apocalypse roster.

The announcement was made by Murphy on his Twitter account, which read: "Guess who's coming back for AHS APOCALYPSE? Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and....Stevie Nicks. So thrilled the family is together again! #AHSApocalypse"

American Horror Story: Apocalypse debuts on September 12 on FX in the US and on September 27 at 10pm on FOX in the UK. Catch up on series 1-6 on Netflix, with season 7 available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.
