Strictly's Amy Dowden shares rare snap of husband as they have brunch on a ‘good day’

Amy Dowden shared a rare snap of her husband as the pair enjoyed brunch together amid her cancer battle.

The Strictly Come Dancing pro announced in May that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and in July said she been given a second cancer diagnosis.

The 33-year-old has been undergoing chemo but she and her hubby Benjamin Jones marked a "good day" by heading out to eat together.

Snaps posted on Instagram showed the pair sat in a restaurant, with Dowden clutching a green drink as they beamed at the camera.

"When you're having a good day so your husband treats you to brunch," she captioned the post, adding hashtags including "#itsthelittlethings", "#havingagoodday", "#chemo" and "#newwig".

Dowden and Jones tied the knot in 2022.

They celebrated their first anniversary a few weeks ago, and the dance star marked the milestone by sharing a photo from their big day on social media.

"One year since our special day with our favourite people," she wrote.

"What I would do right now to re live this perfect day.

"Not the anniversary or year we certainly had planned but I am sure and determined to have many more better ones with you!"

"Thank you for being by my side, spoiling me, being Mr positive when I’m not and choosing to love me!" she said.

Dowden has been open about her cancer fight, regularly updating fans about her journey.

She has recently been speaking about losing her hair amid treatment and how traumatic that has been.

The star ended up making the decision to shave her own hair off as a way of taking back some control, and last month shared a poignant video that showed her clipping it off surrounded by loved ones.
