Watch: Amy Schumer's Oscars joke about Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriends
Amy Schumer provoked a strong reaction from the Oscars audience with a joke about Leonardo DiCaprio.
The stand-up comedian and actor hosted the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony, along with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall, and made a quip about the Don’t Look Up star while discussing its nomination for Best Picture.
Schumer, 40, said: "Leonardo DiCaprio - what can I even say about him?

"He’s done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner, greener planet for his girlfriends."
She added: "Because he’s older. And they’re younger. Okay, you get it.”
There was a mixed reaction from the audience to the gag - with some gasps and groans as well as laughs, as well as a few boos to be heard in the background.
Jessica Chastain was shown covering her face in embarrassment as she laughed at the joke.
DiCaprio, 47, is currently in a relationship with Argentine model Camila Morrone, 24. They have been dating since 2017.
Before that he dated German model Toni Garrn, 29, Israeli model Bar Refaeli, 36, and Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen, 41.
The Titanic star - famous for his environmental campaigning and philanthropy - has been the butt of jokes about his girlfriends' ages at past awards ceremonies.
At the Bafta Film Awards in London earlier this month, host Rebel Wilson used DiCaprio's supposed love of younger women as her punchline.
She approached 20-year-old CODA star Emilia Jones, and said: “I’ll give you the award for the person in the crowd Leonardo DiCaprio would find most attractive... He does like them young.”
And at the Golden Globe awards in 2020, Ricky Gervais made a joke about Quentin Tarantino's film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in which DiCaprio appeared.
Gervais said of the movie: “[It’s] almost three hours long – it’s an epic. Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and by the end his date was too old for him.”

He added: “Even Prince Andrew’s like, ‘Come on, mate, you’re nearly 50, son.’”
DiCaprio was shown laughing at the joke.
