Angelina Jolie admits she'll 'probably lose money' on fashion brand

Angelina Jolie has admitted that she will "probably lose money" on her fashion brand Atelier Jolie.

During an interview with WSJ Magazine, the Hollywood star opened up about her venture into the fashion world with her recently released fashion brand.

"You, in fashion? No," the 48-year-old said of the public's reaction to her latest project.

"I've never been to a fashion show or Met Ball my entire life," Jolie told the publication, stating that she avoids following fashion trends and loves "individuality and I love freedom".

The Girl, Interrupted star explained that Atelier Jolie is more than a side project.

"I'll probably lose money, maybe even for a while," Angelina acknowledged. "If I can eventually put into practice some things that I think are improvements and I just break even, that's a huge victory."

According to the brand's Instagram, Atelier Jolie, which launched in May, is a "creative collective for self-expression". Through the company, the Maleficent star invites creatives to collaborate with a "skilled and diverse family" of tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world.

The brand, which is focused on sustainability, ethics and quality, teamed up with the French fashion house Chloé on a ready-to-wear capsule collection in June.

Jolie told WWD at the time, "My earnings from this collaboration will be invested in establishing apprenticeships for tailors and artisans at Atelier Jolie."
