Angelina Jolie is an actress, philanthropist, style icon and a mother to six children. The Oscar winner’s kids — Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 15 — have certainly impacted Jolie in many ways. And her style just happens to be one of the elements of her life that’s evolved since she became a mother.
Over the course of the last several years, Jolie’s style has included muted tones and classic silhouettes incorporated into her wardrobe. It’s rare to see the philanthropist and activist wearing clothing with any words or phrases, or even vibrant colors. Instead, Jolie’s fashion yields to more subdued and elegant attire.

2017
In the mid-2010s, Jolie began bringing her kids to more red carpet events. The actress attended the premiere of “The Breadwinner” in Hollywood in October 2017, wearing a white A-line dress with flowing sleeves and an intricate detail on the bodice. She also brought her kids Shiloh and Zahara to the event.
2018
For the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, Jolie demonstrated her proclivity for an Old Hollywood style sensibility. The actress fashioned a black gown with a sheer element that revealed Jolie’s shoulders and wore her hair back with a few wisps to frame her face. She accessorized with glittering earrings, merging her own approach to style with a classic aesthetic. She also brought son Pax with her to the event.
2019
At the September 2019 premiere of her film “Maleficent,” Jolie proved she could still be playful with her fashion choices. She wore a glittering black gown with gathered fabric to her waist and a silver scorpion brooch binding the fabric together. The look appeared to be method dressing-inspired, and her kids, Pax, Shiloh, Vivienne, Zahara and Knox, seemed to coordinate their looks to their mother’s attire.
2021
While attending Variety’s Power of Women in September 2021, Jolie demonstrated her inclination to muted tones. She wore this mocha-hued maxidress with long flowing sleeves, a cinched waist and high neckline. The dress was a more conservative look from what Jolie had worn prior to her years of motherhood. Zahara fashioned a similar aesthetic in a white jumpsuit with a belted waist.
2023
In April 2023, Jolie and her son Maddox attended the White House state dinner for South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. For the occasion, Jolie fashioned a look with ethereal inspiration. She wore a floor-length white gown with a thigh-high slit from Chanel. Jolie paired the dress with a blazer draped over her shoulders.

2024
One year later, in April 2024, Jolie and daughter Vivienne attended the opening night of “The Outsiders” in New York City. For the red carpet event, Jolie wore a caramel-hued cape over a similarly colored dress. Her accessories included a pair of bold gold earrings that complemented the color scheme of her ensemble. Vivienne wore a navy blue boiler suit, showcasing her own style sensibility.
