Angelina Jolie Moves Daughter Into Historically Black Spelman College

Actress Angelina Jolie moved her 17-year-old daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, into Spelman College, a historically black college in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday, August 10, according to footage posted to Instagram.

The video shows Jolie posing with Spelman College’s president, Dr Helene Gayle, according to a college representative.

When asked how it feels to be a “Spelman mom,” Jolie says “I’m so excited,” with a wide smile. “I’m going to start crying. I’m holding it together," Jolie also says at the beginning of the video.

Jolie shared an Instagram post about Zahara starting her college career on Sunday, July 31.

“Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl,” read a caption accompanying the post.

According to Spelman College’s website, it is “a historically Black college and a global leader in the education of women of African descent, is dedicated to academic excellence in the liberal arts.” Credit: Darryl Holloman via Storyful
