Animals died following a fire at a petting park on a country estate near Bristol. The blaze broke out at the Old Down Country Park, on Foxholes Lane, during the early hours of yesterday morning (April 27).

In a post on social media, the country park confirmed that there was a fire in Pets Corner and some animals died. They added that the fire was not started deliberately and thanked the emergency services for their response.

Old Down Country Park said in a post on Facebook: "Business Statement regarding closure on Saturday 27th April: We are saddened to report that the closure yesterday of our Country Park was due to a fire that occurred in our Pets Corner in which some of our beloved animals sadly passed.
