Animals reunited with tearful owners after being rescued from Turkey earthquake rubble
Animals that were rescued from the rubble of buildings destroyed by an earthquake in Turkey have been reunited with their owners.
Footage from Humane Society International shows puppies and kittens as well as adult cats and dogs and a duck being rescued and treated by the animal welfare organisation’s staff.
Tearful owners thanked the rescuers for reuniting them with their beloved pets.
The charity estimates that more than 1,500 animals have been brought in to their clinics in Antakya since deadly tremors struck Turkey early in February, and says they are still finding animals alive amongst the debris.
