Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles has found its home at Hulu.

Christopher Rice revealed the "exciting news" on his mother Anne's official Facebook account, writing: "THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES is coming in for a landing at Hulu, the Emmy-winning broadcaster that brought us one of the most seminal literary TV adaptation of our time, The Handmaid's Tale.

"There will be many more announcements in the weeks to come, but we wanted to bring you this exciting news right away," the post added.

The book series, which is largely set in New Orleans, was previously adapted into the successful 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, starring Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Kirsten Dunst, as well as a 2002 sequel, Queen of the Damned.

The Vampire Chronicles will now come to TV screens with author Anne Rice as executive producer alongside her son Christopher, with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content also on board.

Back in May, a post on the series' official Facebook page displayed the title of the show as The Vampire Lestat and listed the first episode's ('The Wolf Killer') writer as Christopher Rice.

"In this unique golden age of television, I couldn't ask for a finer or more passionate team to help bring my beloved vampire hero, Lestat, alive in a series of the highest quality," Anne Rice previously said.

"This is a dream come true, both for me and for Christopher and for the fans who have been asking to see the Brat Prince in this medium for years."
