Anonymous Targets Donald Trump After He Calls For Ban On Muslims Entering U.S.

Hacktivist group Anonymous is targeting Donald Trump after the the big-haired Republican presidential candidate controversially called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S.

The hacker collective claims to have nearly brought down Trump’s www.TrumpTowerNY.com website for a brief period of time.

According to one Twitter user, the hacker collective used a DDOS or ‘distributed denial of service’ attack in order to bring the site down. This type of attack usually crashes a website by overloading it with traffic.

The site now appears to be running normally.

In a video posted in response to Trump’s controversial plans, a masked Anonymous member said:

“Donald Trump, it has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims from entering the United States. This policy is going to have a huge impact. This is what Isis wants. The more Muslims feel sad the more Isis feels they can recruit them. The more the United States appears to be targeting Muslims, not just radical Muslims you can be sure Isis will be putting that on their social media campaign”.

Trump has shown no signs of backing down on his outlandish proposal that would see muslims barred from entering the country.

Anonymous recently announced that it would target the Islamic State terrorist group and claims to have shut down thousands of social media accounts with alleged IS links.

The hacker group has also declared 11 December official ‘ISIS Trolling Day’, describing it as a ‘day of rage’ and urging members to troll alleged IS social media accounts and report them.

Organised demonstrations will also be taking place in various locations around the world.
