Ant and Dec fans say they've been crying today as the popular presenters issued a new update on social media.

The pair, whose full names are Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, signed off their final episode of the 20th series of Saturday Night Takeaway last weekend. Ant and Dec announced last year that they would be halting the ITV entertainment series as it seemed like the "perfect time to pause for a little while and catch our breath".

During its final instalment, Ant told viewers: "Saturday Night Takeaway is the kind of show Dec and I watched every Saturday growing up, so it's been an honour and a privilege to have made the show and to have been part of your Saturday nights for over 20 years."

In a new Instagram post on Wednesday, the presenters shared a video filmed during their final day on SNT 2024. Cameras followed them around the ITV studio from 8.45am as both presenters said they had "mixed" feelings.

They also thanked the huge crew for all their support over the years. Sharing the clip, Ant and Dec simply said: "The last day", and hundreds of fans have rushed to comment.

Alison said: "Crying fist thing in morning, we love this show, I cried Saturday as well, Saturday nights will never be the same again". Roxanna said: "Cried watching that! Cried watching it live! Every year I look forward to SNT! Count down the days! Well deserved rest lads... but please come back to SNT in the future".

Angelica said: "Crying again watching this" and Carly said: "My heart is still a bit broken from this... So many memories, thank you boys for being you". Shane said: "Gutted, this has been part of our family life for 20 years".
