Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway hit with fix claims from outraged fans
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway viewers have been left outraged after the show seemingly “fixed” their Win The Ads competition during Saturday’s live episode of the show.
The final episode of the series was filmed in Disneyland on Saturday night and a contestant, window cleaner Neil Scott, was awarded with the star prize despite giving the wrong answer to his final question.
The Geordie hosts told Neil that they had to accept his first answer during the Win The Ads contest, but when he initially gave the wrong answer it looks like the hosts changed their mind.
Dec asked Neil in which hand the Statue of Liberty held her torch, with Neil answering: “I’m going to say left, I haven’t got a clue.”
However, when the audience groaned, Ant asked: “You’re going to say what?”
Neil replied: “Right! I’m going to say right!”, to which Dec shouted: “That’s the right answer!”
Ant followed up by quipping: “I’m not finishing the series on a loser, believe me.”
In spite of his blunder, Neil ended up winning a luxury holiday to Mexico, a £20,000 Vauxhall Mokka and a home makeover, and viewers were less than impressed – especially as just two weeks ago hopeful Joy Norman got one of the questions wrong during Win The Ads and lost her haul.
Critics tweeted:
Total fix in Win the Ads….Usually they say we have to take you first answer….But tonight no rules where in place.#SaturdayNightTakeaway

Think OFCOM will be interested in what happened in Win The Ads. You can't just change the rules to suit the show! #SaturdayNightTakeaway
