Ant McPartlin has responded to fans' queries about an absent name on his family tree tattoo while updating them on his newborn son.

The Britain's Got Talent presenter, aged 48, recently celebrated the arrival of baby Wilder with his wife Anne Marie. Ant took to Instagram to announce the birth, posting a picture cradling his son and inadvertently showcasing his arm tattoo.

Some sharp-eyed followers noticed that 'Amzie' (Anne Marie), his stepdaughters Poppy and Daisy, and the two Maltipoos (Milo and Bumble) he shares with Anne Marie were included in the family tree ink, but Hurley was conspicuously absent.

Addressing the oversight on X - the platform formerly known as Twitter - today, he wrote: "Hey all, I just wanted to say thank You so much for the kind messages of love and well wishes for our baby Wilder. He's doing great. Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn't on the family tree..he was! ! He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks A."

He also shared a new photo showing the complete tattoo, revealing Hurley's name on a lower branch to the left. Fans were quick to send their congratulations, with one commenting: "Congratulations to you both, and the wider family on the new addition. You're gonna be knackered for those live shows! ", reports the Mirror.

Recent reports have unveiled that Ant's former spouse, Lisa Armstrong, is set to fight for custody of their cherished Labrador Hurley. Ant, who's currently on a paternal leave after welcoming his son for the first time, is bound to take steps to ensure he wins over Hurley following Lisa sharing an image of the pet with the caption: "Mama's baby boy" on her Instagram.

The duo parted ways in 2018 after being together for nearly two decades and proceeded to tie knots with Anne Marie, his past personal assistant, in 2021. Last week, the BGT presenter announced the birth of his son Wilder Patrick McPartlin, but this joyous event has reportedly had a significant impact on Lisa, considering they did not have any kids during their time as a married couple.

Ant posted a picture of him holding his newborn son on Tuesday on Instagram with words that read: "Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy's a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad's a mess! " The chocolate Labrador frequently makes its way into Lisa's social media posts, but during their £31 million divorce settlement, Ant has allegedly declined to let Lisa have full custody of the dog, with reports from MailOnline stating that he informed lawyers: "She can have anything she wants except the dog."

A source revealed to The Sun that Lisa was left feeling "betrayed" by Ant's revelation of the new arrival, which has only solidified her determination to retain custody of Hurley. They shared: "She felt very betrayed by both Ant and Anne-Marie and felt that none of this has been handled sensitively, especially the announcement of the baby. The one thing that has got her through it and been by her side constantly is Hurley she doesn't know what she would do without him. He's more than just a dog to her and has been a lifeline at times."
