Wanted man who evaded police for two months captured thanks to Facebook fail

Anthony James Lescowitch Jr just couldn't help himself when he saw a police appeal on the social networking site

Anthony James Lescowitch Jr shared the image on Facebook of his own wanted poster.

After evading the cops for two months a wanted man just couldn't help but gloat when he saw a police appeal on Facebook asking for any information to help track him down.

But hubris proved to be his downfall.

Anthony James Lescowitch Jr, or Jimi as he is known on Facebook, decided to brag to all his friends on the social networking site by sharing the official appeal by the Freeland Police in Pennsylvania, commenting underneath his mugshot: 'lol i f****n love it A*****E'.

Lescowitch, 35, had been sought in connection with assaulting a man during a robbery in July last year.

But he lost all bragging rights once detectives realised he'd share their post. They quickly conspired to reel him in.

It went like this - an undercover officer posing as an attractive woman messaged Lescowitch on Facebook, striking up a rapport before suggesting they meet up.

Although Lescowitch was initially hesitant, the 'woman' finally convinced him when she asked: “The least you can do is come out and have a cigarette with me."

When he arrived at their determined rendezvous point the police pounced and took the stunned Pennsylvanian into custody. A subsequent Facebook post by the police announced Lescowitch had been ensnared just 45 minutes after he shared the post.

This is not the first time Lescowitch had a run-in with the police.

He has been imprisoned some 15 times, the first when he was just 18.
