Anya Taylor-Joy Teases “Furiosa: A Mad Max” “Saga” Prequel at 2024 Oscars: 'Those Movies Invite a Certain Kind of Chaos’
The actress, 27, talked about the "kinship" she feels with all former 'Mad Max' stars as she teased the prequel film
Anya Taylor-Joy is ready for the world to bring audiences back into the Wasteland.
The actress, 27, couldn’t contain her excitement about her upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga as she chatted with Laverne Cox on the red carpet ahead of the 2024 Academy Awards.
"I think those movies just invite in a certain kind of chaos,” she said on the Live from E!: The Oscars red carpet pre-show of the franchise, which also includes 1979's Mad Max, 1981's The Road Warrior, 1985's Beyond Thunderdome and and 2016's Fury Road.
The stories also invite “a certain kind of crazy person” to take them on, she quipped, before sharing that she feels a deep bond to the many actors who have starred in the franchise before.
“So I feel a deep kinship with anyone who’s been out in the Wasteland in any of the films. We’re just — we’re a family,” Taylor-Joy said, adding that all Mad Max alums are “forged in the fire” together.
