'Absolute scenes' in offices across UK as workers celebrate Germany's early World Cup exit
Brits celebrated wildly in offices and pubs across the country as Germany were dumped out of the World Cup by South Korea.
The 2014 winners are heading home from Russia already after failing to make it out of the tournament’s group stage for the first time since 1938.
And football fans across the UK delighted in their old enemy’s failure, with many taking to Twitter to describe the “absolute scenes” and “huge celebrations” at their workplaces.
“My whole office is cheering over South Korea winning over Germany,” wrote one worker in Croydon.
Absolute chaos in the office. All work has stopped to watch Germany crash. There’s balloons flying around. WE BELIEVE 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

We're taking a worrying amount of pleasure in Germany's misfortune here in the office. Sure there's a word for that... @theflange@Bernione1@AndyGray_#WorldCup

One Twitter user said their Sheffield office had descended into “absolute chaos” with balloons flying around as Germany crashed out of the tournament.
Another exclaimed: “I’ve seen nothing unite the office more than Germany getting knocked out of the World Cup.”
It comes as England fans prepare to watch their side take on Belgium tomorrow, having already secured their place in the last 16.

Judging from the noise in the office due to the #WorldCup2018#germany result - this is the worst time for a CO2 beer shortage

Germany’s 2-0 loss to South Korea means Sweden and Mexico progress from Group F into the last 16.
Kim Young-gwon thought he had fired the Koreans ahead a minute into added time but the goal was initially disallowed for offside. However, after a VAR review showed Germany's Toni Kroos got the last touch, the decision was overturned.
Tottenham striker Son Heung-min then rolled the ball into an empty net to turn the screw with German keeper Manuel Neuer stranded upfield to make it 2-0.
England's next game will see them take on Belgium in Kaliningrad on Thursday.
