Apple TV+ Raising Prices 43%

Apple TV+ is raising its subscription rate 43%, from $6.99 a month to $9.99/month — exactly one year, mind you, after the streaming service enacted its very first price increase, of 40% (from its original ask of $4.99/month).

An annual Apple TV+ subscription will in turn fetch a cool $99, versus the previous $69.

Subscription price increases for Apple Arcade (now $6.99/month, no change to annual plan), Apple News+ (now $12.99/month) and Apple One (now $19.95/individual, $25.95/family and $37.95/Premier) also take effect today in the U.S. and select international markets. Existing subscribers will see these price increases 30 days later, on their next renewal date.

In a statement announcing the rate hike, the streamer said, “We are focused on delivering the best experiences possible for our customers by consistently adding high-quality entertainment, content, and innovative features to our services.

“Since launching four years ago, Apple TV+ has made history for streaming services by crossing major milestones in a short span of time, thanks to its extensive selection of award-winning and broadly acclaimed series, feature films, documentaries, and kids and family entertainment.”
