Ariana Grande tells social media stars to stop partying during 'deathly pandemic'

Pop megastar Ariana Grande has hit out at social media influencers for not taking coronavirus restrictions seriously.

The Thank U, Next singer has been an advocate for social distancing and has urged fans and followers to stay safe.

Now Grande has asked why Tik Tok and YouTube stars who have millions of followers can’t stay home “just a few weeks more” during the “deathly pandemic”.

The 27-year-old made the comments during a recent appearance on the The Zach Sang Show.

She questioned: “Did we all need to go to Saddle Ranch that badly that we couldn't wait for the deathly pandemic to pass?

“Did we all need to put on our cowgirl boots and ride a mechanical bull that bad? We all needed that Instagram post that badly?”

Tik Tok star Dixie D'Amelio, who has over 42 million followers on the platform, was asked by gossip site Pap Galore what she thought of Grande's comments.

“I don't really know what to think,” she admitted, before saying: “I mean, she's right. She's right, yeah. She's a queen. I love her.”

Addison Rae, who celebrated Halloween at American restaurant Saddle Ranch, was also approached by Pap Galore about Grande’s comments.

She said: “I think it’s fair. I think it's understandable.

“I definitely have been not going. ... I just have been trying to stay in and work out. I’ve been working out a lot, and also preparing for my movie.”

Vlogger Bryce Hall, who was with Rae at the Western-themed Saddle Ranch, branded Grande’s comments a “marketing move”.

Speaking on the Hollywood Raw podcast, he said: “Because she knew that Tik Tokers have a high audience, she knew a lot of people would agree because there's a lot of people that hate Tik Tokers especially.

“I mean, it was obviously like a marketing move and good for her. But like, she's not wrong.”
