Hyland, 33, confirmed on Wednesday that she would be exiting the Peacock series after hosting it for the last two seasons.
The Modern Family actress shared on her Instagram Story Tuesday, “Well, I just got a text. I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer.”
“I have committed to an exciting project, that will be announced soon, that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA,” she continued. “While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season.”

On Madix's last appearance on Love Island USA in July, the Dancing with the Stars alum took aim at ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s wandering ways.
After Sandoval’s cheating with costar Rachel “Raquel” Leviss came to light, Madix set out to make sure the Islanders felt confident in their partners’ honesty. Hosting a “Mr. and Mrs.” game, Madix asked players increasingly personal (and often awkward) questions about their dates. The goal of the game was to see “who's actually been taking the time to get to know one another,” according to the reality star.
“Take it from me, it's important to know who you're dating or sharing a bed with,” Madix said, clearly alluding to her intense fallout with Sandoval. “And if they're not the one for you, trust me, it's better to find out sooner rather than later.”

The not-so-subtle digs came after the former couple split after Madix found an intimate video of Leviss, 29, on Sandoval's phone in March 2023.
“They had been having problems for a while, but this was the final straw for Ariana,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. "She put up with a lot over the years, but she won't sit back and be disrespected this way."
Sandoval has since admitted to cheating on Madix with Leviss for more than seven months despite Madix’s friendship with Leviss. The Schwartz & Sandy's co-owner made a public apology on social media, writing, “I made mistakes, I was selfish, and made reckless decisions that hurt somebody I love. No one deserves to feel that pain so traumatically and publicly."
Following the revelations, Bravo picked cameras back up (filming had officially wrapped months prior), leading to an explosive — and ultimately Emmy-nominated — season of VPR.
Madix hasn't let the drama keep her down, either. In the time since the bombshell affair, Madix has published her book Single AF Cocktails, been working to open her sandwich shop, Something About Her, with her costar and friend Katie Maloney, received sponsorship deals from brands like Bic, Bloomingdales, Lay’s, T-Mobile and Uber 1, appeared on Dancing with the Stars, and is currently starring in her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago.
Season 11 of the hit Bravo series — which explores the fallout of Scandoval with Madix and her ex still living under the same roof — is also currently airing.
