Armed police swarm Glasgow south side street as area 'locked down' by officers

A street in Glasgow's south side has been swarmed by armed police amid an ongoing incident today (May 6).

Kenmure Street in the Pollokshields area of the city has been blocked by police vehicles.

Images and videos seen by Glasgow Live show a number of specialist officers holding guns in the area. A number of police cars and a van can be seen parked along the road outside a block of flats.

The nature of the incident is not yet known and it is unclear whether anyone was injured or arrested.

A witness said the area was "locked down" and there were "armed police everywhere".

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
