Arnie and Sly to reunite for Escape Plan 2
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone - the ultimate macho men - are set to join forces again for Escape Plan 2.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arnie is in talks to return for the sequel to 2013's prison-break film Escape Plan, while Sly has signed on to reprise his role as a prison security specialist.
The sequel will be co-produced and co-financed by Emmett/Furla/Oasis and Beijing-based Leomus Pictures, with the first film's screenwriter Miles Chapman also returning to pen the script.
Beijing-based Leomus Pictures means the film will be a China-US co-production, and will apparently feature some Chinese story elements.
EFO founders Randall Emmett and George Furla are also returning to produce Escape Plan 2, alongside Leomus CEO Jie Qiu and Mark Canton, Zack Schiller and Robbie Brenner.
Ted Fox, Mark Stewart, Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb are executive producing with The Fyzz Facility's Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones.
Sly, who became a superstar with hits such as Rocky and Rambo, previously spoke of how his and Arnie's first Escape Plan is very different from their earlier work.
"We were on a parallel career course during what I would call the gold age of hardcore action films, but this is something new," he insisted.
"[Escape Plan] is not just guns, flames and bombs. Our characters really have to use their brains to get out.
"There's a tremendous amount of action in it, but it is very much a thinking man's adventure, and it plays into the mature part of our careers."
