A man has been arrested after police swooped on a High Wycombe polling station as voters cast their ballots in the general election.

Thames Valley Police arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage and intimidation, a source has confirmed.

The arrest was in relation to a filmed altercation prompted by a vehicle that was carrying an advert for Wycombe independent candidate Ajaz Rehman.

The van was seen stopped at the junction of Middlebrook Road and the Pastures in the Downley area this afternoon.

Footage shows men exchanging words with the driver opposite the Vibe Church, where a polling station was based today (July 4).

Thames Valley Police has been approached for comment.
