Arsenal handed massive boost ahead of Wolves amid Jurrien Timber fitness update

Mikel Arteta has revealed that his Arsenal squad are more or less fully fit for their Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday.

The Gunners head into the game off the back of a bruising 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich which ended their Champions League campaign on Wednesday. Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka both appeared to be struggling with injury issues during the game, while Gabriel and Ben White have been managing long-term issues.

Speaking to the press at the Sobha Realty Centre ahead of his side's trip to the Black Country though Arteta admitted they should be fit to play. "(They are) all good," Arteta simply said.

The only player who won't be available for the clash at Molineux is Jurrien Timber. The Dutch international is still recovering from an ACL problem that has kept him out since the opening day of the season, but Arteta revealed Saturday will come to early for him.

"It’s too soon," the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference. "He’s gonna play a game with the 23s and after that we will see better how he feels. He looks really good in training, but it’s that last big step, we need to see if he’s ready and how it’s going to go."

Timber's return could help Arsenal in a number of positions. The versatile Dutchman has played at both left back and right back in his brief Gunners career and has also been used as a centre back for Ajax. Arteta admitted this versatility could be a massive boost for his side when Timber does finally return.

"Both positions," the Spaniard said when asked where he saw Timber playing. "He played right back and left back in pre-season. In relation to the games and the players that we have available we will decide."
