Much has been made of the business needed by Arsenal in the summer transfer window. Despite another season of competing at the top of the Premier League, the Gunners seem to need reinforcements across Mikel Arteta's squad.

A new striker and winger have reportedly been prioritised by sporting director Edu Gaspar ahead of the summer transfer window. Signing a new centre-forward has seemed to be on their list in the past three windows and it remains an unsolved predicament.

Reaching the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League and heading into May within a chance of becoming champions of England for the first time in 20 years means Arteta's project is continuing to follow an upwards trajectory. However, to take that next step of replacing European giants like Real Madrid at the top of the game and dismantling Manchester City in England, Arsenal may have to spend Stan Kroenke's millions once again.

The likes of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Nico Williams have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks. And according to Football Transfers (via Caught Offside), the Gunners will attempt to smash last season's £250million spend with four 'marquee signings' acquired.

It's likely a striker and winger will be added to strengthen Arteta's options in attack. Further business could happen at centre-back and in central midfield, though these positions aren't as a priority as in attack.

Whatever happens in the window, Arsenal will be hoping to raise funds via player sales. Many players are facing uncertain futures in north London, including Aaron Ramsdale, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.

Amid ongoing concerns over Financial Fair Play, selling players is likely to be the best route for the Gunners to ensure they avoid any future punishment.
