Asda driver saves customer’s life while dropping off shopping
An Asda delivery driver potentially saved a customer's life after intervening when the man did not answer the door.
Ozzy Iqbal, who works at Asda Chesser in New Mart Road, Edinburgh, acted fast after there was no answer at the door when he tried to drop off groceries.
He rang a contact number a couple of times but when his calls went unanswered, he sought help from a neighbour.
They both went into the man's home and found he was seriously ill and called an ambulance.
The customer was taken to hospital where he received the care he needed before being allowed home, Asda said.

Ozzy said: “He is a regular customer and when he did not answer, I became a bit worried about him.
“I managed to reach a neighbour who was able to help.
"I’m so glad we were able to do something for the poorly shopper.”
James Duncan, online trading manager, added: “Ozzy is a very hardworking and consistent employee who has been with us for several years.
"He is very friendly and receives great compliments from our customers.
“He is a key member of the team, and I was not surprised to hear that he had done this as he is such a caring character who always looks out for others.
"We are very proud of him.”

It’s not the first time an Asda delivery driver has helped out a customer in need.
On 7 January, driver Colin Kirven from a Tilbury store helped a disabled man who'd fallen in the hallway of a sheltered housing complex he was delivering to.
He called 999 and looked after him until paramedics arrived before completing the rest of his round.
In 2019, Asda driver Habeel Khan rescued a seven-week-old baby from a house fire after his mum told him the child was still inside.
Habeel said at the time: "It was a just a normal day at work for me. I was doing my deliveries in the Stapleford area and when I pulled up and looked over to where the customer's house was I saw loads of smoke just gushing out of a house.
"My natural instinct was to just run across to the house. I could see loads of smoke and lots of people panicking outside.
"I shouted 'is everyone out of the house?' and that's when a woman with two young children shouted 'my baby; my baby's still in the house.' I don't think she had realised until then and then she ran back into the house and I went with her.
"She managed to pick up the baby from a room next to the kitchen where the fire had started, then we ran out."
