Asda has issued a warning over packs of crisps as they could pose a health risk for people with a milk allergy.

The retailer has recalled Asda Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps because they contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label. The packs affected have a best before date of September 21, 2024, and are 150g in size.

Customers are being urged to take the items back to the store where a refund will be provided. And anyone with a milk allergy is asked not to eat the crisps.

The Food Standards Agency said: "As a result of a packaging error, some packs contain Cheese & Onion Crisps. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents."

Asda added in its warning: "Asda is recalling the above best before date code of Asda Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps (150g) because packs contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

"If you have purchased Asda Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps 150g with the above best before date, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. No other date codes are affected.
