Asda and Sainsbury's issue 'emergency' alert and tell shoppers 'dispose of item'

A popular product sold in Asda and Sainsbury's has been urgently recalled. A popular brand of gyoza, which is sold at Asda and Sainsbury’s, may be unsafe to eat due to the possible presence of plastic and has been withdrawn from shelves.

Itsu is recalling frozen itsu sizzling pork gyoza because it may contain small pieces of plastic. The company’s 240g packs with the best before date of March 8 2025 are affected by the recall, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has said in an urgent recall.

Itsu is urging customers to not eat the product, and to send a picture of the bought item to them. The FSA said: "The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat. The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would to thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.” If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Please send a photograph of the best before date to customerservice@itsugrocery.com, the FSA said.
