An Ashby nightclub will host a trip down memory lane without the late night hassle this weekend. Manhattan’s is capitalising on the day rave craze and is urging as many people as possible to attend.

The nightclub, in Ashby’s Market Street, is hosting its daytime club event this Saturday (May 4) to capitalise on the day rave trend sweeping clubs across the country. They offer the full nightclub experience, full of great tunes and fun, but in more manageable daytime hours.

The experience aims to give older nightclub goers a chance to relive their youth, with Manhattan’s making this weekend’s event all the more special as it’s strictly for the over 30s. Greeting them will be a wealth of top tunes from the pop music of the 80s, the 90s rave hits and the early 2000s.

The daytime club promises to evoke nightclub memories for Leicestershire ravers who enjoyed great nights out at Jimmy Deans in Osgathorpe and the Travellers Rest in Griffydam. Jimmy Deans was owned by Showaddywaddy star Malcolm Allured at the height of its popularity with clubbers young and old, but last year the beloved site was greenlit for demolition.

Manhattan’s is the latest club to roll out day raves, with the craze growing momentum across the country. BBC Line of Duty star Vicky McClure and her husband, Jonny Owen, launched their Day Fever events to great success earlier this year.

General manager Katy Ferrari said: “We have seen similar events up and down the country happening so decided to jump onboard with the craze! It will be something fun for the town as we take you back through the decades. You'll be able to come out when it's daylight, have fun with friends and be in bed at a decent time."

The over 30s daytime boogie takes place from 4pm to 9pm on May 4. More information, including ticket prices, are available on the Manhattan's website.
