Assault charges dropped in Union County case
Apr. 19—LEWISBURG — Aggravated assault and related charges filed against a Lewisburg man accused of slashing his wife's arm with a knife and kicking her have been dropped.
Buffalo Valley Regional Police Sgt. Frederick J. Hetrick said Michelle Elmore during a preliminary hearing on Nov. 30 stated the events she reported to police did not occur. Since she was the alleged victim and only witness, Lewisburg District Judge Jeffrey Rowe was forced to dismiss the charges filed against Peter D. Holmes, 59, of Lewisburg: a felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; two misdemeanor counts of simple assault; and a summary count of harassment.
Elmore, 44, of Lewisburg, is now charged with a misdemeanor count of false reports to law enforcement.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Elmore at 1:30 p.m. May 2 in front of Rowe.
