Aston Villa have confirmed they will head back to the USA during pre-season after spending two weeks Stateside last summer for the Premier League Summer Series.

Villa will play a friendly against Columbus Crew on Saturday, July 27. The match will be held at Field with kick-off set for 8pm local time (2am BST). The match is part of the the Leagues Cup Showcase and will be shown live on VillaTV with streaming and ticketing details to follow, the club have confirmed.

The Telegraph claim Mexican club Club America will also play against Villa for a friendly in the USA, while talks with RB Leipzig and Club Brugge have also been held over another possible match.

Villa will also head to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park on August 10. That's a week before the 2024/25 Premier League campaign kicks off on the weekend of Saturday, August 17. Athletic Bilbao are also possible candidates to face Villa in early August.

Unai Emery's side geared up for this season with six friendlies, three of which were played out in the States. Villa beat Fulham 2-0 in Orlando either side of 3-3 draws against Newcastle United and Brentford in Philadelphia and Maryland respectively.
