Aston Villa decision would ruin Jurgen Klopp's dream Liverpool send off

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp needs to keep his cool against Aston Villa or risk being denied a fitting Anfield farewell.

Klopp’s Reds travel to Villa Park in the Premier League on Monday night in the German’s penultimate game in charge of the club, before he leaves at the end of the season. His final match in charge of Liverpool will be against Wolves at Anfield on May 19.

It promises to be an emotional day at Anfield as Klopp says goodbye after almost nine years in charge. But he could be denied the perfect send off as he is one yellow card away from being banned from the touchline.

It means that if he is shown a yellow card by the referee during Liverpool’s match against Villa, Klopp will have to watch his final game in charge from the stands rather than the home dugout, which would be a horrible way for his reign to end.

Asked about trying to avoid a yellow card against Villa, which would see him pick up a touchline ban for his final game in charge of the club, Klopp said: "I've known for a long time. I only got two yellow cards. I've got calmer over the years.

“I don't need to be on the touchline but it would be cool. I will try absolutely everything to not try and get involved in any discussions."
