Philippe Coutinho's transfer saga will reportedly be wrapped up 'imminently' as the midfielder completes a second loan move away from the club.

The Brazilian has been out of the picture at Villa since Unai Emery 's arrival, though so far efforts to secure his permanent exit have proven fruitless. Last summer he was handed to Qatar's Al-Duhail for a season-long loan, in view of finalising his exit fully in the current transfer window.

To achieve this, negotiations have proven lengthy with his boyhood club, Vasco da Gama. At first it was for Coutinho 's permanent transfer, then the terms were changed to a loan, before eventually it seemed the only way for this to work would be to terminate his West Midlands contract to allow his free signing in Brazil.

But following on from a recent South American report, both John Percy and Fabrizio Romano substantiate the idea that Coutinho will remain on Villa's books and in fact now only leave on loan again, with no termination of his deal to take place. This is to take place 'imminently', with an agreement 'very close' between two parties willing to get it over the line.

With it increasingly unlikely the 32-year-old features in claret and blue again, he leaves for the second consecutive summer having made 43 appearances, scoring six and assisting three goals in that period.

Brazil's transfer window officially opens in five days on July 10, after which point Vasco would be officially allowed to register the returning midfielder for action. Midway through their current campaign, the Rio de Janeiro-based side sit 14th with 14 points after 14 matches.
