Atmospheric River Dumps Heavy Snow on Sierra Nevada Mountains
The Sierra Nevada region braced for heavy snowfall on Friday, March 1, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of several feet of potential accumulation by the storm’s end.
A winter storm warning was in effect for Reno until Saturday night, with the NWS warning of snow accumulations up to 3 ft in elevations of the Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden area above 5,000 ft.
