Aurora Bathes North Dakota Sky in Spectacular Green-and-Pink Glow

A stunning green and pink aurora bathed the night sky in Dayton, northeast North Dakota, on Monday night, September 18, footage showed.

Elan Azriel, who captured timelapse footage of the aurora, told Storyful that “gorgeous pillars of pinks, purples, and blues, danced across the North Dakota sky during the nighttime hours of Monday.”

According to North Dakota’s tourism office, the northern lights can be observed year-round in the region. They are likely to be seen statewide and the optimal time for viewing is two to three hours after sunset in areas with minimal light pollution. Credit: Elan Azriel via Storyful
