Australian Politicians Take Aim at Supermarket Duopoly Dressed as Pigs
Australian politicians Bob Katter and Andrew Wilkie wandered through Canberra’s parliament house dressed as giant pigs eating from troughs of fake money on February 28.
According to local news reports the two independent MPs orchestrated the stunt to announce a press conference on profits of Australia’s two major supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths.
This video, posted on Katter’s official Instagram account, shows the pair wandering through the halls of parliament house wearing signs taped to the pig costumes reading “Cold” and “Worth less” as a jab at the supermarket giants.
In the caption of the video Katter said: “Someone has their snout in the trough. It ain’t the consumers, and it certainly ain’t the farmers… I’ll give you three guesses as to who’s the piggy in the middle”. Credit: Bob Katter via Storyful
