Ava Phillippe Finds a Lock of Her Teenage Pink Hair Taped in Old Journal: 'Was Going Through Some Stuff'
The 24-year old reflected on her teen years with a nostalgic Instagram post
Ava Phillippe may be blonde now, but she still has a keepsake from her colorful hair days.
On Wednesday, Ava — whose parents are Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe — shared an Instagram photo revealing a lock of the pink hair she had when she was 14 years old, which she found taped in her old journal.
“I dyed my hair pink in the bathroom when I was 14. ‘I was going through some stuff’ and changing my hair was something that felt fun,” Ava , 24, captioned the photo, adding that the hairstyle helped her, in part, “navigate that period of growing up.”
“Nearly a decade later, I opened up an old journal and found something little me *really* didn't want to forget,” she added.
Matthew McConaughey’s wife, Camila, commented, “Beautifully shared.”
Ava rocked her pink hair as a teen on the red carpet too, attending events alongside her mom.

She took a brief break from her pink — and then rainbow — hair in her late teen years, preferring to rock her signature golden color (which is similar to her mom's shade).
In 2020, she dyed her layers and bangs a rose gold shade (when she also cut her own hair) and in 2021, she debuting a brighter coppery pink transformation on Instagram only a few weeks before showing off the style at the Sing 2 premiere with her mom. Her metallic look even got the princess treatment when Ava starred in Pat McGrath’s Bridgerton collection campaign that year.
Ava then took another short hiatus from eye-popping hues before going even brighter with a neon orange dye in 2022.
For now though, it looks like the hair chameleon is having fun as a blonde.
