Baby found dead on city centre street as police launch probe

A baby has tragically been found dead in a city centre street.

The grim discovery was made on Taviton Street in Camden, London, at 4pm on Monday, July 8.

Officers said they were called to the scene after receiving reports of "concern for welfare".

When they arrived, the infant was found dead. The cause of the baby's death is currently unknown.

Police say inquiries into the death are ongoing.

A Met Police spokesperson told the Mirror: "Police were called to Taviton Street, WC1, to reports of a concern for welfare.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

"A baby was sadly found dead. Enquiries continue into the circumstances."
