Martha from Baby Reindeer has criticised a Coventry nightclub, the Kasbah, over allegations that she had been booked for a personal appearance.

The nightlife spot stated that special guest Fiona Harvey would be signing autographs on the following evening. However, Harvey denied these claims stating: "Of course it's not true.

"If I am supposed to be a mad stalker, why do they want me in the nightclub? No nightclub has approached me. I didn't even know there were any nightclubs in Coventry."

The nightclub suggested that Harvey might engage with fans by taking "selfies" and signing autographs. There was also a suggestion of her taking a "lucky reindeer home to hang her curtains", referencing a tweet highlighted in the show, reports the Daily Record.

The club faced backlash and accusations of exploitation, leading them to issue a statement cancelling the booking due to negative publicity and safety concerns.

Harvey expressed her bewilderment at the situation saying, "It's the sort of thing that used to be classed as a grab-a-granny night, like Clatty Pat's which was the name given to a club called Cleopatra's in Glasgow, or Crazy Daisy's nightclub in Aberdeen. I can barely go out for coffee let alone clubbing."

She described this incident as another attempt to exploit her fame, noting: "It's another example of people trying to exploit me."

For her TV interview with Piers Morgan, viewed 10million times on Youtube, Harvey received £250. Adding a humorous touch, she added: "I thought I was sent to Coventry two weeks ago when I was portrayed as a mad stalker.

"Though I'd probably make more money signing autographs than I would from appearing on Piers Morgan."

Earlier this week, the Record exclusively revealed that Harvey plans to take legal action against Netflix over Baby Reindeer with the assistance of barrister Chris Daw.

In Baby Reindeer, which is advertised as a "true story", Martha is depicted as being in jail. However, Harvey refutes any claims of having been incarcerated for stalking or any other crime. Kasbah was contacted for a statement.
