Fans of ITV's Britain's Got Talent were left baffled after a contestant appeared on stage in a Batman costume. Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli returned to the judging panel for another round of auditions tonight (Saturday, April 27).

But when judge Alisha asked the contestant his name, he did not answer. Amanda laughed and joked: "I don't think we are going to get very far here."

A member of the audience then shouted out "Batman" before he started breaking out into an impressive opera performance. The operatic Batman wowed all four judges and the audience with his voice, with Alesha, Amanda and Bruno standing to applaud the 40-year-old at the end of his audition.

Alesha said: "You little minx, that's what you get up to at night is it." While Bruno beamed: "Your baritone was just brilliant."

But fans took to social media to voice their confusion over the contestant's choice of outfit. @Imtherealanon commented on Twitter/X "Well, that was different. A singing Batman certainly got the audience attention."

While @d_dean90 wrote: "Why the need to dress up as Batman with a voice like that?" And @ChizzyTwiX shared: "Errrrrm??????? What's going on Batman ?

@ollie_olly_olly added this comment: "Why does he need to dress as Batman to get noticed?" Anmd @Nikkdthomas commented: "I mean, he can sing, why is he dressed like batman?"

The popular ITV show, now on its 17th series, auditions acts from across the country. The winning act will get to perform in front of the Royal Family at the Royal Variety Performance.
